The Story Behind the BOL Christian Center

Today, that impossible dream is becoming real, one phase at a time. We’re currently celebrating the completion of Phase 2 of the Center — the second of seven planned phases. It’s a small number on paper, but it represents years of prayer, sacrifice, and faith finally taking shape in brick and mortar. 

We believe this project is a living picture of Matthew 17:20 What God started through a small, faithful ministry, He is bringing to fruition — not all at once, but step by step, mustard seed by mustard seed. 

Why Does Bucharest Need This? 



It might seem strange that a capital city — full of jobs, schools, and opportunity — would also be home to some of the deepest poverty. But that’s exactly the paradox. Bucharest offers real chances to break the cycle of poverty: education, training, employment. But the cost of living in the city keeps that door firmly shut for children coming from poor families. They can see the opportunity, but they can’t afford to reach it. 

That’s where BOL steps in. Our Youth Transition Program (YTP) currently supports close to 40 teens, giving them a path out of poverty and into a better future. But our current housing is maxed out. We’re already renting additional space just to keep up — space that isn’t sustainable long-term, and isn’t ours to build a real home in.

What’s Next: Phases 3 and 4 



The next stage of construction will add a second floor to the Center, creating 11 small apartments — private, dignified living spaces for our teens. This isn’t just about solving a housing shortage. It’s an open door. With more space, we can welcome more teens directly from our feeding programs into the YTP family, giving them a chance at a different life. 

Each apartment will cost $35,000 to complete. We’re already one-third of the way there — 4 of the 11 apartments have been already sponsored. One of the most moving moments in this campaign came when several of our own YTP graduates, now working modest first jobs, chose to give toward an apartment themselves. 

They know what this home means, because they lived it. That leaves 7 apartments still in need of funding — seven more chances for God to turn impossibility into testimony. 

Two Stories Worth Knowing: Sara and Fabian 

Numbers and apartments only tell part of the story. Sara and Fabian tell the rest.

Both children came from deeply painful backgrounds — homes marked by abandonment and parents captive to alcohol. By every earthly measure, their stories could have ended in more of the same. But what was meant to break them, God is using to rebuild them. Since joining BOL’s care, Sara and Fabian are flourishing — attending school, growing in a vibrant local church, and being mentored daily by people who genuinely care about their future.



They are just two of the many children BOL walks alongside. And they’re a preview of what’s possible when the Christian Center is finished: more room, more homes, more stories like theirs.
