Larisa Finds A Safe Haven

Larisa’s story is a testimony of the transformative power of love and care. Along with three siblings, she came to the Bread of Life Children’s Home from a life of unimaginable misery. Living in deplorable conditions, a dilapidated shack with dirt floors, no furniture, a flimsy roof, and a makeshift wooden door.
We welcomed her into the BOLCH, where other children who had also faced the hardships of a brutal childhood embraced her. With support from loving caregivers and newfound friends, Larisa blossomed. She’s caught up with her education, made lasting friendships, eagerly participates in the home’s Bible programs, and now even lends a hand with chores.
Over the past two decades, we’ve made a difference in the lives of over 350 children in desperate situations, and your help made that possible. Winters bring added expenses for wood, electricity, warm clothing, and nourishing meals. We need your continued support for the coming winter months.
You can profoundly impact by donating just $50, which will feed one of our 100 children for a month. Your contribution will provide them with stability, a warm, Christ-centered home, and a chance for a brighter future. We rejoice as you join us in this mission, ensuring more children like Larisa can thrive and find hope.

For many of us, the word “graduation” brings to mind robes, diplomas, and proud family photos. But for the teenagers who are part of the Bread of Life family, this moment is so much more. It marks a profound achievement, a courageous transition into adulthood, and a first real step toward independence. Their determination inspires us and fills us with joy and pride.

Each fall, children approach the first day of school with nervous anticipation or eager excitement. As a child, I loved school. I remember preparing with a list in hand, carefully choosing pencils and notebooks. We weren’t wealthy, but my parents always found a way. Sadly, many children in Romania don’t get to experience that joy. For them, choosing school supplies or packing a backpack is out of reach. Without basic tools, some can’t attend school at all—missing the education that could shape their future.
