Catching Up and Keeping Up

At the Bread of Life Orphanage, we have several rooms designated for special purposes. There is a bakery room, a music room, a game room, etc.   Perhaps you did not know that we also have a computer room.  We have computers which were donated for the children to use.  Most jobs in Romania like anywhere in the world require computer skills but the poor remote villages from which most of our children come were lacking this resource. With the tutoring we provide, these young people not only learn computer skills they will need but they learn that it is fun!

Each fall, children approach the first day of school with nervous anticipation or eager excitement. As a child, I loved school. I remember preparing with a list in hand, carefully choosing pencils and notebooks. We weren’t wealthy, but my parents always found a way. Sadly, many children in Romania don’t get to experience that joy. For them, choosing school supplies or packing a backpack is out of reach. Without basic tools, some can’t attend school at all—missing the education that could shape their future.
