Mission Report

In the Northeast corner of Romania there is a beautiful small village named Plopoasa. This village with one road in and out, not unlike many other villages, is surrounded by rustic farmlands and scenic landscapes. As the bleating of sheep echoes on the surrounding hillside, gravel roads and horse-drawn wagons are commonplace. There is no gas station here, or grocery store, or school, or cemetery, and until recently not even a church; but now the faces of children line up almost daily outside a remodeled store building for church service.
There is a recognizable spiritual and physical need in this village; and though the need is great, it is an opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A church in a bigger town purchased a small store front building in this village to turn it into a church; and Bread of Life is now able to operate a feeding center in the only Bible teaching church here in Plopoasa.
The primary mission is to bless the children and ensure that poverty does not allow any child to live hungry; however entire families are blessed through the ministry here. While distributing food and clothing, the church here is addressing head-on the physical needs of cold, hunger, and malnutrition of children and adults alike. And following each hot meal is a time of prayer, song, and Bible teaching. So as the physical needs are being addressed, so are the spiritual needs for each soul to know personally His and Her Savior through Jesus Christ.
Even while there is no pastor for this church as of yet, the volunteers continue the work that is needed. “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send laborers into His harvest” (Matt 9:37-38). So because of the relentless efforts of limited volunteers here, the church experiences growth, and the souls are being saved. Bread of Life is facilitating the growth of God’s kingdom even in the most remote locations. And knowing this is only one of fifty locations further magnifies the value and vision of the Bread of Life’s ministry throughout the country of Romania.

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Prayer changes things—because prayer moves the heart of God. As we enter 2026, we invite you to join us in prayer for Bread of Life—the precious children we serve and the faithful staff God has placed in our care. Each prayer lifted up becomes part of His loving work of transformation. Together, we believe for healing, provision, and renewed hope as every child grows in His grace. Enclosed is our 2026 Prayer Calendar—a daily reminder to stand with us before the Lord. On one side, you have each child’s photo and birthday, and the calendar highlights those days. Take a moment to thank God for their lives and speak blessings over their futures. BOL Team

As the holiday season draws near, our hearts are filled with gratitude for God’s greatest gift—His Son, Jesus Christ. Christmas reminds us that love came down to dwell among us, and now we have the joy of sharing that same love with others. This year, we invite you to join our Christmas Shoebox Ministry —a simple yet powerful way to bless children in Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Romania. For many, these gifts will be the only ones they receive, but through them they’ll experience the warmth of God’s love and the hope of the gospel.

Elisabeth and Darius, two young souls brought together by the Bread of Life Ministry, grew up side by side, forming a sincere friendship rooted in respect and trust. Even from a young age, they believed that with God’s help, a heart committed to learning, and a willingness to walk in obedience, a better life was possible.
