Graduation Day

It’s a happy graduation month at Bread of Life! We are excited to celebrate with our graduates and proud of their hard work. In our newsletters, we often share stories about the children we serve, but we wanted you to hear from them. We have asked each graduating senior to share a bit about themselves. Our children are unique and have individual talents, dreams, and stories to share.

I’m Laura Tofan, and I’m 18 years old. I lived in Bacău, with my 14 brothers and sisters, before coming to Bread of Life three years ago. I enjoy reading and writing, and I am an analytical person. I notice the small details in almost everything that happens around me. I also enjoy critical thinking, and I like to analyze the things around me. I grew up in the country, that’s why I love nature. I just finished the 12th grade, and I plan to go to college to study Journalism and Communication Sciences. I am hopeful I will develop my communication skills because I like to get to know people.

My name is Daniela Tarca. I am the youngest of six siblings. I am from Vatra Dornei, and I came to live at Bread of Life four years ago after my older siblings moved here. I like to travel and meet new people and help people when they need help. I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends. I came to the foundation four years ago. In the future, I would like to take courses to become a hairstylist.

My name is Estera Ionita and I am from Pădureni, Giurgiu. I am the oldest and have three younger brothers. Last year in April, I came to live at the Bread of Life Youth Transition Program. I enjoy helping others, and I have a heart to learn and work hard and help others learn. I learned about Bread of Life YTP from my high school, where I attended with the other youth. During high school, I also worked at McCafe. I want to become a teacher, but I am still thinking about it.

Oh, I don’t even know how to start… My name is Onofrei Claudia Ștefania and I am from Adjud, Vrancea County. As a child, I was impacted by Bread of Life; only I wasn’t fully aware of it. My aunt had a feeding center fully supported by BOL, which I went to every day after school or when the leaders of Bread of Life would visit. I heard about a Christian high school and the opportunity to study there. Still, I never imagined I would be able to go there because it was in Bucharest, and it is pretty challenging to live there without a good income. The miracle was that the headquarters of Bread of Life is located in Bucharest and offers the opportunity to young people who cannot afford it to come and finish their studies at that very   Christian high school. They also provide a place to live in Bucharest, and that’s how I got here. For two years, I have lived among those from BOL, but I was fully aware this time. The environment is so great for a young Christian. The leadership shows understanding, and we are a great beautiful family. I’m not sure what the future holds, but I hope to stay here as long as possible. I hope to help with volunteering and remain in the same Christian environment. I want to be a part of helping the Bread of Life family grow.

At Bread of Life, our dedication to supporting widows and elderly individuals in communities across Romania is unwavering. Every month, we extend a helping hand to 75 of these cherished members of our society. However, this winter, thanks to the generosity of a compassionate donor, our efforts went above mere assistance.
