The Perfect “Online” Gift

The celebration of Christmas began with a gift. It’s a time when we celebrate God giving the world the gift of Jesus. God, the creator of the world, chose to give us the gift of His Son to bring us back to a relationship with Him. What a powerful thing.  

Think about the moment right before you open a gift. Sometimes you may have an idea of what the gift is, and sometimes you have no idea. Either way, there is always excitement that comes with receiving a gift. Why is this? Why is receiving a gift such an exciting thing? Because no matter how small or large the gift may be, it sends the message that someone cares and is thinking of you. That is a powerful thing.  

Now, think of a child who has never received a Christmas gift, or possibly any gift. When given a gift for the first time, the child is excited, anxiously waiting for the moment they can open their gift. Some things they may not have ever owned in their life; some things they cannot even dream of wishing for due to the poverty surrounding them. Sounds of excitement and joy fill the room at this moment. You brought this moment to this child through one simple gift. A simple gift you sent across the world to a child in Romania.  

This year you have the opportunity to be a part of this moment for a child in Romania. There are two ways you can participate. You can donate $25 to Bread of Life, and our staff in Romania will create a shoebox with items purchased locally . All donations will go towards shoebox gifts for the 2022 Christmas Shoebox Project. Or you can pack a shoebox gift and mail it to our warehouse to be shipped to Romania . This small gift can bring so much joy and hope. As Jesus said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
