Special Invitation to Join the Bread of Life Feeding Program

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Mathew 6:26

It is interesting to see the contrasts of our modern days. We have the pick of the technology era, where the internet connects us from Romania to the US or other places instantly, planes flying everywhere, electric cars that drive themselves, smartphones, drones, and so on. But, while having all of these, not too far from the developed towns of Romania, we find so many people struggling to meet the bare necessities of life. In these places, life seems to be stuck in a time hundreds of years ago. Problems of many kinds, from unemployment, sickness, or abandonment, threaten the lives of so many children and families.

We know God could miraculously take care of all of them, but he has equipped us as His body, to take care of each other. Just as it states in Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. We believe we have the honor to be part of God’s body, helping and loving the weaker parts.

We are thankful for all those who have been responded to our calls in the past to get involved and help us get needed refrigerators, freezers, and a refrigerated vehicle to transport food. We have managed to purchase these and install them in three of our feeding centers. Isn’t it amazing to know that now over 100 children are blessed with food and spiritual guidance because of your involvement? Thank you!

As we continuously go into remote villages with aid and see the pressing need for these children to receive a nutritious meal each day, it is so hard to turn around and leave. The only thought that keeps us motivated is that by sharing these reports with you, we could soon come back and do something for them. We need $750 for each new feeding center to buy a refrigerator and freezer plus operating equipment. The monthly operation of a feeding center that feeds 100 children is around $340 (in addition to the food supplies we already have). Our urgent need is to open three more feeding centers.

We share this with our brothers and sisters, knowing that it is not clever wording that stirs your hearts, but God, who speaks to you and motivates you to become involved and make a difference. We are merely His messengers presenting the needs of the poor in Romania.

We thank you for reading our appeal and ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us at Bread of Life Ministries. We are ready to clothe and feed God’s children, and together we can make a difference!

God bless you.

Winter in our region is long and bitterly cold. Snow, ice, and freezing temperatures make even the simple walk to school difficult — especially for children who only have thin summer shoes. At Bread of Life Children’s Home, we are dedicated to meeting the daily needs of the children in our care. During the winter months, heating, utilities, and food become urgent priorities. At times, because of these pressing expenses, replacing personal items like clothing or shoes must wait. Yet even in these moments, we see God working quietly behind the scenes.

In northeastern Romania, in Botoșani County, winter does not ask if anyone is ready. It comes suddenly and harshly, with long nights and a cold that seeps into the bones. For many elderly people in isolated villages, each day is a silent struggle — with the cold, with scarcity, with loneliness. Pensions are small, help is rare, and the silence inside their homes feels heavier than the frost outside. In Baranca, Hudești commune, we entered a home that has stayed with us. An almost 80-year-old man, struggling to stay mobile and weakened by illness, lives in very difficult conditions. Yet he is not alone — he cares for his 50-year-old son with a disability, completely dependent on him. A frail father who can barely move continues to carry the weight of caring for his child.

In March, spring begins to appear across America. Days grow longer. Temperatures rise. But in Eastern Europe, winter often lingers — and this year it has been one of the longest and harshest in recent memory. As winter stretches on, the hardest reality sets in. Food reserves are gone. Firewood is nearly finished. Strength is fading. What should be a season of transition instead becomes a test of endurance.
