From Feeding Centers to Family

For many years Bread of Life operated a Feeding Center ministry, feeding many hungry children and helping families remain together. As we all know, COVID has changed life for everyone, and BOL’s ministry projects are no exception. Large feeding centers with lots of children enjoying a meal and having a Bible story are no longer possible. But that doesn’t change the fact that there are still many hungry children that need our help.

When COVID arrived in March, we were forced to close down feeding center locations. We knew we had to find a way to meet the current needs and still keep everyone safe, so we shifted to “family packs,” a monthly food box with enough food to sustain the needy families for a month. But the children weren’t the only ones who desperately needed our help.

We found that there were many widows in these areas that were also in great need. Now this “family pack” program also delivers much-needed food supplies to about 75 widows and elderly each month. As God provides the resources, we plan to continue providing these “family packs” through the winter and spring.

Shifting our feeding center program to a family pack program did not come without challenges, including increases in food costs, the need for extra staff for deliveries, and logistic issues, to name a few. Would you consider helping us continue delivering “family packs” to the poor families and the elderly to help them make it through the coming winter? A gift of $30 will provide a “family pack” food box with enough food for a month to a needy family or elderly person.

Help us to continue showing God’s love to those less fortunate by giving to this project.

Sponsorship at the Bread of Life Home is more than financial support—it is an act of faith that changes lives on both sides of the relationship. When sponsors step forward to pray for, mentor, and invest in a child, they become part of a story of hope, healing, and belonging.
