God’s Love in Action

Seeing God’s hand at work in our children is always a blessing, even more when we see them willing to give sacrificially.

In the book of Proverbs, we read of the wisdom shown by the ants who gather and store up, and the Bible also teaches us to be generous, giving to those in need. When the Ukraine crisis started, Bread of Life had been preparing. We had enough food and supplies to last about six months. But after seeing the plight of refugees pouring into Romania from Ukraine, we knew we needed to help, but how could we without sacrificing our stability and what we had stored.

We have many children, teens, and the elderly who depend on us. What would we do if we gave away our food and then donations slowed or another outbreak of COVID hit? How could we sacrifice the stability of our children to give to refugees? All valid questions, but what were the answers?

I believe Faith and Love are the answers to those questions. God wants us to love our brothers and help them as much as possible. Then have faith that He will provide for our needs. Our children and teens are always willing to give of themselves, and their generous hearts encourage us. So by faith, BOL began to deliver food and supplies to refugee camps, knowing that God would, in turn, supply our needs.

The children at the BOL home and the teens in the YTP all got involved. They packed over 750 emergency food and hygiene kits provided to refugees coming into Romania who had been on the road for days with little food.

We thank God that He has placed a willingness to give into the hearts of the children and teens who are part of the Bread of Life family, and we ask God to continue to use them to reach out to others. We ask for your continued prayers and support for the BOL general fund to help us rebuild our reserves to care for the children.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Mathew 6:31-34

Help Us Prepare for a Warm Winter As spring arrives in the mountains of Broșteni, Romania, we are already looking ahead to the next winter. For most of us, staying warm is as simple as turning up the thermostat or paying the gas bill. But for the children at the Bread of Life Children’s Home, we must prepare for warmth—months in advance.

Darius’ Journey: A Story of Faith, Love, and Resilience Darius’ life has been shaped by resilience, unwavering faith, and the power of love. His mother passed away when he was very young, leaving a void that shaped much of his child hood. Growing up in a family that moved frequently due to financial struggles, he learned to find joy in the simple things—playing outside with friends and making the most of each moment. But everything changed when he arrived at the Bread of Life (BOL) Home.
